Chelsea manager Antonio Conte shows off the spectacular results of his hair transplants

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is riding high in his first season managing in the Premiership.

His Chelsea side are seven points clear at the top and fans love the way the passionate little Italian has turned around the club after a disastrous run of results last season.

Conte, 47, is also a winner with his hair.

Take a look at the before and after pictures here to see how he looks years younger after several hair transplants.

Conte first had three procedures in his native Italy. He wasn’t entirely happy with the results and had further surgery at a clinic in Canada.

Whatever early problems he had, Conte certainly has a spectacular result now – his hair looks amazing.

It is likely that he would have had several FUE (follicular unit extraction) procedures where the grafts are individually removed from the back and sides of the scalp to be transplanted in the balding areas.

As you can see from the before and after pictures, Antonio had advanced male pattern baldness across the top of his scalp.

Conte wears his hair fairly long so he would have been suitable to use the more traditional FUT (follicular unit transplantation) method where the scarring caused by the harvesting of donor hair is slightly more visible, but it would not matter in Conte’s case because his longer hair would cover this up.

It is said that Conte’s early attempts to reverse his baldness with procedures in Italy were not entirely successful ,but this earlier work was remedied in Canada.

Crown Clinic’s surgeon Asim Shahmalak is one of the most eminent surgeons in the world. His global reputation for excellence is recognised by the fact that he is a member of respected international bodies such as The International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons (IAHRS).

Only the very best hair transpplant surgeons in the world are invited to join the IAHRS.

Dr Shahmalak does lots of ‘repair work’ at Crown Clinic– remedying unsatisfactory work by other surgeons, particularly surgeons working abroad.

Once you have decided to have a hair transplant, the most important decision you will make is the choice of your surgeon.

With hair transplantation, it is vital that you do not cut corners on excellence by simply picking the cheapest sugeon. It could be far more expensive in the long-run, as cases such as Antonio Conte testify.

Look for surgeons who are affiliated to recognised medical bodies – they would not have that recognition if their work was not good.

It is always a good idea to look at the testimonials on a clinic’s site. Any good surgeon will have lots of recent happy patients who want to recommend their surgeon to others.

Finally, it is always a good sign if a surgeon has worked with lots of high profile people. Celebrities don’t take chances with their looks – they only go to the surgeons who are at the top of their game.

Dr Shahmalak works with lots of stars –Calum Best from Celebrity Big Brother, Gogglebox’s Chris Steed and I’m A Celebrity’s Martin Roberts can all attest to his excellence.
