Tennis star Rafael Nadal has a hair transplant but Andy Murray remains undecided

Wimbledon is coming up at the end of the month.

Sadly Rafael Nadal is not playing this year due to injury.

But this year’s tournament will probably be the last for former winner Andy Murray – arguably the UK’s greatest ever player.

Nadal, 36, underwent a hair transplant at a clinic in Madrid a few years ago.

He had a FUE (follicular unit extraction) procedure where individual grafts are taken from the back of the scalp and replanted in the balding areas.

Around 80% of Crown Clinic’s patients opt for FUE including most of our celebrity patients – Jack P Shepherd from Coronation Street, model Calum Best and the former footballer Didi Hamann.

They were all delighted with the surgery performed by our consultant surgeon Asim Shahmalak.

Andy Murray, also 36, is showing the effects of male pattern baldness but has so far has resisted the urge.

Murray’s wife Kim is keen for him to get help with his hair.

She reckons that Jimmy Carr’s hair looks great after his procedure but Andy is not so sure.

Jimmy and Andy appeared together on the Sky panel show A League of Their Own, where Andy joked about the comic’s new look.

Andy joked: “My wife has been telling me to have one of them for a couple of years but I’m not if it turns out like that.”

We think that Andy is being far too hard on Jimmy – most people agree that Carr looks fantastic with his new hair.

Addressing his receding temples has taken years off his appearance and made his face look fresher and younger.

Certainly Jimmy seems thrilled with the results.
