You may have seen reports in the media about Wayne Rooney’s second hair transplant.
The Manchester United striker had a second FUE (follicular unit extraction) transplant just two years after his first one.
Our surgeon Asim Shahmalak has been explaining in the media about why he needed a second transplant so soon after the first.
You can read his analysis in the Manchester Evening News here:

Dr Shahmalak pointed out that while Rooney’s transplanted hair from both operations will be permanent and last the rest of his life, Wayne has continued to lose his natural hair.
That is why he has fresh bald patches so soon after his first transplant. The problems will be rectified by him having a second transplant.
Rooney could also help to retain his natural hair by taking the drug Propecia, which is clinically proven to prevent natural hair loss, though it won’t help the star grow any new hair.
Dr Shahamalak, a big Manchester United fan, says that Wayne is an inspiration to thousands of men.
It took great courage for him to be so public about his two transplants – and he should be applauded for that.
